Township Committee
Neighborhood Meetings

After last year's successful series of neighborhood meetings, the Township Committee has decided to take their show on the road again this spring, starting March 11th. Between March and June, meetings will be held in each of the township's twelve elementary schools.
"These informal meetings are a great opportunity for all of us to focus on the issues and concerns of each neighborhood," said Mayor Patrick W. Parkinson. "Last year we were able to talk with several thousand residents and discuss issues that concerned them the most. We look forward to that opportunity again."
Meetings will be held at the following times:

What's New In Parks & Rec?
All aboard! The township's second annual arts festival is coming to town! The event, title All Aboard the Arts II, will take place from 2-5pm May 19 at the future arts center for Middletown, the former Banfield Building located next to the Middletown Train Station. There will be an array of exhibits and performances, works of local artists, including Erin Keely's touching photos of the WTC, and activities for everyone to join including hands-on arts and lessons on caricature drawing. The event is free, so come out and enjoy the day- Sunday May 19th.



The township's first Summer Arts Camp, "Say Hello to the Arts," will be offered this July to give Middletown children entering grades four through eight an opportunity to try their hand at various art forms. Children enrolled in the camp will have a chance to meet professional artists and experiment with drawing, acting, and movement styles, animation, poetry, musical improvisation and storytelling. The camp will run for three one-week sessions on Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:15 p.m. The first session will be held at Bayview School beginning July 11, the second at Lincroft Elementary School beginning July 18 and the third at Middletown Village School beginning July 22. Space is limited, so interested residents should apply early. The cost for each week's session is . Payment in full is necessary to secure a spot, which will be provided on a first come, first served basis. To register, call (732)615-2260 for more information.




Water Restrictions
Middletown is part of the Coastal North drought region. Therefore you may only water your lawn every other day. If your house number ends in an even number, you may water only on even numbered days. If your house number ends in an odd number, you may water only on odd numbered days. Congratulations to Robert W. bucco Jr., who was elected President of the Middletown Board of Education. Nominated by N. Britt Raynor, Bucco received the support of his colleagues as the Board and the MTEA hope to put last year's ugly strike past them.
